I purchased the sili squeeze over a year ago, and it is still working great for my son. At first the no spill valve was hard for even me to suck anything through, but after using it a couple of time, the valve "relaxed" enough that my 1-year-old could easily suck on it. It is now just barely starting to tear so that it does leak a little. But that isn't a problem now that they sell the replacement valves. The whole thing is very easy to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher. I love that the neck of the main pouch is big enough for a spoon to fit in. So you can easily spoon the purees into the pouch without spilling all over the place. Overall, we really love this.
What a blessing!
I started using foil pouches with my little when she was 11 months. She quickly mastered the sucking required of her, but the mess factor and lack of variety and expense lead me to the Sili. The bite-suck requirement was a new skill, so I offered the Sili when she was less then VERY hungry. I used the non-eese tip and made sure the air was removed (so she got food as soon as she made the right actions). It helped at the very start to squeeze just a tiny bit into the cup of the tip so she could know that her favorite foods were inside (more incentive). It took her about 5 days to be fairly good at it. For the first couple of weeks, she would leave almost an ounce in it. After several week's regular use--she could suck them down so there is only a tablespoon or so left.
B. is now 15 months old and her Sili's have been occasionally thrown and stepped on(neither caused a leak). We use them often. Once her language develops so I can count on not needing the leak-proof tops, I look forward to moving on to the Easee(sp) lids so I can offer a wider range of foods. I've found that the Sili holds more than is indicated. The 4oz holds just under 6oz, and the 6oz size holds just under 8oz. Even allowing for a bit to remain in the container with use, this is extra room (a plus, IMO). One final note: The effort to suck through the leak-proof tops gives B satisfaction...like a bottle. Thank you, Sili!
my son loves his sili
i have to say this has to be the best thing ever, the company is great they addressed a concern i had with the first sili i got, i was disappointed when my husband forgot the sili overnight in the car, i cant get the smell of fermenting apples out of it, im hoping a few more days of airing out takes care of it. but my son loves his sili hes had it since he was a year, thanks for a good prouduct
Great Customer Service
My son loves his sili squeeze and I love how easy it is to use and clean. When the nipple started getting damaged out of nowhere about a month after ordering I called customer service and they said they would send me replacement nipples at no extra charge!
Awesome for 2 year old
I Bought the regular SiliSquese (with the no spill nipple) for my 2.5 y/o as soon as he saw it on line he said he wanted one so kid friendly design not problem there. Once it arrived he was ecstatic and wanted to use it right away. I actually had nothing but squeeze pouches in the house so I pored a few of those in the smaller one and he was off an running. It took him less then 1 min to figure it out. I still sometimes have to remind him to squeeze it with his teeth and suck at the same time but not that often. :) He likes it much better the the squeeze pouches from the store and I like that I'm not wasting as much packaging. :D win/win The only draw back I have is sometimes it seems the nipple is hard for him (or me, I tried too) suck/squeeze apple sauce through. I'm going to look for finer blended apple sauce at the store next time. I'd much rather have it this way then have the easy squeeze though cause that could make a mess in my purse or at least when I open it. Maybe when the new design of the easy squeeze comes out we'll try it though. :)
Awesome for little ones with feeding issues
My twins were born prematurely and spent 115 days in the NICU due to immature lungs and severe reflux. They were not able to be orally fed for months because of their lungs and when we tried oral feeds they vomited everything due to severe reflux. They both left the hospital with feeding tubes. We have been working with a feeding therapist weekly for almost two years without much success then we tried the Sili Squeeze with Eeeze. My twins took to it right away. I was able to squeeze small amounts into their mouths allowing them time to swallow. Now after close to 2 years my sons are actually eating "Real" food not formula through a tube!! So far they are loving apples, pears, bananas, and yogurt smoothies!! It is hard to explain what this means to me as a Mom to see my toddler eat for the first time!! This product has been our miracle!!
Response: Thank you so much for sharing! It truly moves us to know how much our product has helped your little ones, in such a meaningful way!
My almost 10 month old LOVES the Squeeze, and so does his momma! I have spent so much money on the organic pouches, but save so much when I make my own food and use the Squeeze. Plus, I can get a much better variety of food when I make my own. We use the Eeeze nipple, because he can't really get the regular nipple just yet. So, someone has to be there when he eats, otherwise it's all over the place. But, I love the fact that I can take mealtime on the go, and not have to spend a fortune on pouches! Love, love, love this product. I have also purchased a few for my momma friends, and they have been nothing short of pleased!
Good for older kids too
I recently bought the Sili Sqeeze Eeeze for my high schooler, and it is very close to perfect for her needs. Being a generally busy kid and an athlete, it is important that she is able to eat heathly, but also does not want to be slowed down by utensils and Tupperware containers. With the Sili Sqeeze, she is able to get a quick applesauce or yogurt snack (and the important nutrition/energy she needs) on her way from one place to the next. The one thing that stands out as a potential issue for us is that the Sili Sqeeze Eeeze has no type of valve cover or plug at all, so if it gets squished in her lunch bag or backpack the food inside fills the cap making opening it a mess. It would be great if there were some sort of plug built in to the clear plastic cap that would seal the valve when the cap is on. Instead we end up putting the Sili Sqeeze inside a Tupperware container to keep if from getting smooshed in her lunch. Not too big of a deal, but it would be nice to not have to.
Response: Thank you so much for the feedback. Yes, we are working on the redesign of the cap and hope to have a new one out by Summer. So happy she is enjoying it though and you are looking past this small issue and \'
squeezing the goodness out\' of it!
Worth every penny!
My 14 month old loves her Sili Squeeze! This is a very well made and designed product. My hat goes off to the mommy that came up with it. I'm telling all my friends about it. Wouldnt change a thing.
Just what I needed
The product is great and just what I was expecting, but there is some room for improvement, mainly with the tops which are incredibly difficult to pull off. Especially when trying not to squeeze the bottom. I was also a little disappointed as the discoloration of the nipples after just the first wash (nothing but soap and water had touched them and they still turned a little orange) but it doesn't affect the function so I don't really care. Definitely will recommend this to other moms!
