Yummy Yams

Yams are often confused with sweet potatoes and ironically enough, are sweeter than sweet potatoes.  Although there is a world of information out there to help show you the difference, it can can still be tricky to identify the two as there is a whole world of different varieties for each tuber, in a range of colors.  Our advice? Ask your local farmer or produce section manager…Either way, don’t miss out on giving your little one this sweet, energy-filled veggie!  Although we’ve added banana for some diversity, you could easily skip adding any other ingredients and simply serve a delicious yam puree.

 

Fills one 4 oz Sili Squeeze

3 oz yams, cooked until tender (skin removed)

1 TB hempseed oil

1 TB banana

 

While the yams are warm, but not hot, puree all the ingredients until smooth.  Serve warm or room temperature.
