Thanksgiving Love

If you think the flavors of Thanksgiving leftovers are wonderful…trust us...so will your little one!  Pureeing a few of the wonderful vegetables and protein together for your toddler is a great way for them to join in on the next-day fun with the fam.  Be mindful not to add any dishes that contain excessive salt or spices.  Consult your pediatrician if you have questions about any new foods being introduced to your child’s diet.

Fills one 6 oz. Sili Squeeze
1/4 c. white turkey meat, excess fat and skin removed
3 TB mashed potatoes
2 TB green veggie (we often have spinach, green beans or brussel sprout leftovers)
water as needed for smoother consistency

Puree the solids in a blender, adding water as needed for a smoother consistency.

Baby Pumpkin Pie

Don’t let baby miss out on their first taste of pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving!  While the rest of the family enjoys a slice of pie, hand over the Sili Squeeze to your baby. We recommend this recipe for babies 6+ months, but as always, consult your healthcare professional when introducing new foods to your baby’s diet.

Fills one 6 oz. Sili Squeeze
4 oz. pumpkin or squash, cooked until fork tender, skin & seeds removed
2 oz. oatmeal or rice cereal
1/8 tsp cinnamon & nutmeg combination, optional

While the pumpkin or squash is still warm, stir in the oatmeal or rice cereal and spices.  Combine well.  Serve warm while the rest of the family is enjoying dessert.

Baby Apple Pie

Share a Thanksgiving tradition – apple pie – with your baby this holiday.  Simply combine applesauce with rice cereal or oatmeal, add a little spice if your healthcare professional permits and ta-da…Baby Apple Pie!  While the big kids are enjoying a slice of pie you can hand over the Sili Squeeze to your baby for their first ‘taste’ of apple pie.

Fills one 6 oz. Sili Squeeze
4 oz. prepared oatmeal or rice cereal
2 oz. applesauce
1/8 tsp nutmeg, optional

While the oatmeal or rice cereal is still warm, stir in the applesauce and spices.  Combine well.  Serve warm while the rest of the family is enjoying dessert.

Holiday Stew for Baby

This tasty recipe is a one-pot-wonder for you to prepare with ease!  This is comfort food for baby…We recommend this recipe for babies 8 months+.

Fills one 6 oz. Sili Squeeze
1 oz. sweet potato, peeled and diced
1 oz. potato, peeled and diced
1 oz. green beans
1 oz. cranberries, fresh or frozen

Place all ingredients in a small pot and cover with water.  Season with a pinch of salt (optional).  Bring the water to a boil and reduce to a simmer, cooking until the vegetables are tender.  Place the solids in a blender and add the remaining stock (water) to the blender as needed to get a smooth consistency.  Be sure not to over-blend, as the potatoes contain starch and could develop a glue-like consistency if over-mixed.  Serve warm.

Gingerbread Smoothie

Tastes as good as it sounds and smells as good as you imagine!  This smoothie will get the whole family in the holiday spirit!  Serve this smoothie for breakfast or a snack on-the-go. (P.S. You might want to make a double or triple quantity of this for the rest of the family….this is delicious!)

Fills one 6 oz Sili Squeeze
2 oz. pumpkin puree
2 oz. vanilla Greek yogurt
2 oz. vanilla hemp milk
1/8 tsp. molasses
1/4 tsp. freshly grated ginger (skin removed)
1/4 tsp. freshly grated orange zest
1/8 tsp. cinnamon

Puree all the ingredients until smooth.  Serve chilled.

What Parents are Saying

  • quote I've been spending a fortune on disposable squeeze applesauce and went looking for a container option to send organic applesauce to school with my twin ten year old girls. And happily, I found you. I'm going to spread the word here in Oldwick, NJ.
